Below is a look at the original storyboard sketches I did before shooting and animating. As you can see the original intro was different to what we ended up doing.
How it all came about.
I can’t remember if ExP asked me to do a video for this track, or if I suggested I do something first… but no matter, what I do remember was my initial idea was to create an animation based on the classic Mr. Men cartoons from the 70s/80s – hence the illustration on the T-Shirt above.
However, after a bit of thought we decided to avoid potential cease & desists and take a different route with the video. I remembered a great ad to promote completing your Tax return that was done about 10 years ago which was effectively animating people within the elements of bank notes, so this was the starting point for this version.
I did a storyboard which was then shot to green screen, then I took all the footage and built the animations in After Effects.
