Circle of Life – Risograph Print

About the art

Circle of Life is my first art print since 2007 and encompasses the two things that have helped me stay sane more than anything else over the years, art and music. I’ve been wanting to do another print ever since I discovered the Risograph printing process a couple of years ago. Risograph is a Japanese printer/printing process that is similar to screen-printing, using rich spot colours to create tactile and vibrant prints, affordably and with little impact to our environment. A Risograph machine works similarly to a colour copier, but only printing one colour at a time. Because of this, slight variations in the print and registration can occur which adds to the charm and imperfection of the finished result. I used Risotto Studio (based in Glasgow) for the printing and am so happy with the job they did.

This edition is limited to just 44 prints, and each order will also receive a complimentary No Biting A6 postcard – 2 Colour Risograph printed in Green and Flouro Pink.

Handle with care

Risograph inks can smudge easily if rubbed, so please take care when handing your print.

Multiple copies?

Due to the limitation of the Squarespace commerce platform, shipping costs are based on weight and not size. So in order to get the correct shipping cost for posters (which are very light, but not small) I have to tell Squarespace that the items are much heavier than they are. So, if you want to order more than one print you can either talk to me first and I can send you an invoice or go ahead and place your order and I will refund the overpaid shipping costs.

Shipping

The prints are shipped flat in a board-backed envelope with a cellophane sleeve and additional stiffener.
